Apple CEO Tim Cook has decided to donate $1 million to Donald Trump's inauguration fund ahead of his January 20 swearing-in. This follows donations from companies like Amazon, Toyota, and crypto firms such as Kraken and Ripple.

Cook views the inauguration as an important tradition and believes his donation supports unity. However, Apple as a company will not be contributing.

This donation comes after Apple agreed to pay $95 million to settle a lawsuit. The lawsuit accused Apple of using Siri to secretly listen to conversations.

The lawsuit claimed Siri was activated without consent for over ten years. While Apple hasn’t admitted wrongdoing, the settlement could allow customers to claim up to $20 per device.

Other companies making donations include Toyota, Ford, General Motors, Robinhood Markets, Uber, and Amazon, with each contributing $1 million or more.
